About

I’m Dwight Raulston, Director of Curriculum at St. John’s School in Houston, where I’ve held a number of positions and taught several different subjects over the last three decades.  I like thinking about curriculum and pedagogy and have set up this site to get feedback on my musings and speculations.  My intended audience is interested colleagues, students, and alumni–but anyone is welcome to make thoughtful and school-appropriate comments.  Ideas may be attacked, but not people who hold them.

Some ideas may be theoretically but not pragmatically useful.  Others might be desirable in some circumstances or at some schools but not others.  Some will be more appropriate for certain grade levels or subjects than others.

Remember that the point of this site is to encourage discussion of ideas related to teaching and learning.  Personal opinions are important, of course, but personal likes and dislikes, without some supporting evidence/experience, aren’t all that helpful to the rest of us.
