Wonder Lab

The Chicago meeting referenced before was actually pretty good. Most of the sessions were interesting, and we went to a design firm for two hours on Friday to be led through some really cool exercises on designing a “Wonder Lab” for K-12 students–i.e., a place designed to incite wonder and stimulate curiosity.

I may try that with my room next year–though it’s harder to be creative if I’m sharing space. But we’ll see.

I gave a short talk and led one of the discussion sections on “Disruptive Education.” I got a number of compliments on how well I did, which always surprises me (when I get compliments from people who don’t know me and hence have no incentive to be nicer than they feel) but was also much appreciated.

That “Wonder Lab” idea continues to resonate, however…
